Indianapolis Mayor, Joe Hogsett, visited Financial Center First Credit Union on July 23 to recognize the local credit union’s contribution to the city’s economic development through financial literacy. The visit comes on the heels of Financial Center receiving its 5th national award for adult financial literacy by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Mayor Hogsett first recognized Financial Center in 2017, when the City of Indianapolis declared April 10th ‘Financial Center First Credit Union Day’
“In 2017, when the Mayor first recognized our efforts, we were providing financial education outreach to 3,000 Hoosiers. This year, we have helped over 9,000.” Said J. Kevin Ryan, President and CEO of Financial Center. “Financial literacy is who we are, and we will continue to find new ways to reach individuals who are in need of financial education.”
