Indianapolis, IN – Financial Center and Mozel Sanders Foundation awarded 11 scholarships totaling $4,500 on Wednesday, November 16. This year’s recipients included middle and high school students.
The partnership between the two Indianapolis-based organizations has grown for 16 years and is rooted in shared common values of feeding the hungry and financial wellness. Since 2006, Financial Center has contributed more than $60,000 in scholarships to students, educators, and front-line workers.
The alliance is about more than just contributing dollars. “We come alongside scholarship recipients as a financial wellness provider, giving them advice on how to best use their scholarship dollars and assist them in starting their financial life out right,” said Dusty Simmons, Chief Strategy Officer.
Additionally, Financial Center and Mozel Sanders Foundation have partnered with WISH TV since 2019 to bring awareness to the growing need to feed hungry families in central Indiana on Thanksgiving Day and throughout the year. The Foundation will carry on its tradition of feeding more than 10,000 Hoosiers, next week and continue to raise funds for food distribution efforts throughout the year. The community can text to donate anytime by texting MOZEL to 317-633-9113.
