DEI, a leading design/build company specializing in banks and credit unions nationally, was selected to design and renovate Ball State Financial’s Oakwood office in Muncie, Indiana. The banking center will remain open during the remodel process, which is set to begin June 13 and finish by fall 2022.
Financial Center First Credit Union merged with Ball State Federal Credit Union in 2019. Choosing to retain the Ball State brand in East Central Indiana, Financial Center created the division, Ball State Financial. It is now renovating its 10,170 SF Muncie headquarters. The renovation will encompass the retail/member service areas including lobby and member service offices, drive-up, safe deposit boxes, and will add new technology including interactive teller machines and device charging stations.
“We are looking forward to showcasing our commitment to education, technology and community involvement through the remodel at Ball State Financial,” said Dusty Simmons, Chief Strategy Officer.
With strong ties to Ball State University and a focus on financial education, the location will include a financial library in the lobby area and potential plans to add a learning center and community meeting space in the future. The location will feature Ball State’s red, black and white color palette and include graphic elements that showcase Muncie and Ball State University’s history.
“The location pays homage to both Ball State Financial’s roots in Muncie and shared values of its sister credit union, Financial Center,” explains Bob Boehmer, DEI’s Regional Vice President. “We made sure to highlight those values of financial education and technology to serve members in the manner they choose in the design.”
Ball State Financial will also update its BSU Student Center location and ATMs throughout Muncie in 2022.
